The Daphne Public Library is looking for a few good volunteers!
Actually, we can find a job for just about anyone willing to help! Volunteers should be at least 12 years of age to shelve or work in the Easy Reader and Junior areas of the library. Older students and adults may volunteer to shelve regularly when it fits their schedule, assist with preparing crafts, assist with special events, or complete various other duties as they arise.
Please sign up in the rotunda of the library or call 621-2818 to volunteer some of your free time today!
Volunteers should speak with staff about working with the library.
Beginning in October, 2013, all volunteers will be required to complete a one-hour shelving refresher course. Courses will be offered bimonthly and will be listed on the library webpage calendar.
Beginners should notify staff so they can receive more one-on-one assistance prior to actually shelving materials.
Volunteers should always sign into the Volunteer Logbook prior to beginning their work and upon completing their work. These records allow us to provide information needed for the completion of volunteer forms for educational and/or social organizations.
Volunteers completing hours by court order should have a library staff member initial their time in and out every day that they work. Letters provided for these volunteers must be verifiable.
