The Daphne Library Foundation and the Friends of the Daphne Library are currently working on a renovation project for the library which will provide three additional meeting spaces for patrons and nonprofit organizations. Approximately 500 – 800 citizens per month meet in our Community Room and Board Room, each with maximum occupancies of 55 and 14, respectively.
The Library serves many groups including homeowner’s associations, charity planning committees, homeschool groups, the Exceptional Foundation, Master Gardener’s, Baldwin County Writer’s Group, quilt guilds and needlework groups, a stamp club, a miniature club, business training groups, various charity organizations, tutors and students, ESL groups, and governmental agencies.
Groups meeting in the rooms enjoy educational and community projects including ACT practice tests, art workshops, book clubs, story time, GED training, etiquette workshops, CPR and First Aid certification courses, alumni meetings, Linus Project quilt-making sessions, Science workshops (lasers, robotics, magnetism), exhibits, speaking events, and more. The Foundation, Friends, and Library are currently applying for grants and conducting The PORCH Fundraising Campaign:
