Children’s Librarians

Rhonda Moss & Shanavia Reed

Rhonda Moss is a Daphne, Alabama native and a long time library lover. She has worked in the children’s department at Daphne Public Library for 12 years and knows first-hand all that it has to offer. She is always up to date on the latest children’s book titles and authors and is a dazzling storyteller. In addition to working full time, Rhonda has an adorable Chug named “Minnie Pearl” who brings her much joy.

Shanavia Reed has been the Assistant Children’s Librarian since March 2018. She arranges books for display, helps prepare story time and encourages young minds to explore through books. Shanavia’s child care career began in 2003, as a youth leader for the local Ruff Wilson Youth Center.  In 2009, she earned a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Alabama.  When she’s not brainstorming for dial-a-story or creating new story time crafts, she is a loving wife and a mother of four stellar kids. She aspires to continuously use her voice to cultivate an environment of joy while learning at the Daphne Public Library.
